Administrative demands in orthopedics, spine, and pain
Orthopedic, spine, and pain authorizations rarely end at submission. Many route through utilization management vendors such as eviCore and Carelon, whose portals, clinical criteria, and documentation requirements differ from the payer's own. Surgical packets are assembled from operative plans, imaging reports, conservative-treatment history, and physician notes that live in different parts of the record. Complete submissions and timely status follow-up can materially affect whether authorization requirements are resolved before a scheduled procedure.
How a case runs here
Ellery Health Partners locates and organizes the documentation the payer's published criteria require, flags anything missing to your coordinator, submits through the channel your practice approves, monitors status, completes up to two routine payer follow-up contacts, coordinates routine additional-information requests from the record, and records every action, reference number, and outcome in your system. If a request is denied, Ellery Health Partners records and summarizes the payer's stated reason, the deadline, and the directed next step. Written appeal preparation is scoped and priced separately.
What stays with your practice
Clinical decisions, medical necessity, diagnosis and procedure code selection, peer-to-peer reviews, provider signatures and attestations, and clinical answers to payer questions remain with your clinicians. When a payer asks a clinical question, Ellery Health Partners documents it and routes it to the contact you designate.
